Hello loved ones,
Maybelline recently launched it’s Fit Me range and since then everyone has been raving about them. I got my hands on the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in shade 115 Ivory but I waited for the summers to arrive in Delhi to test it’s matte claim. And after using it for over a month in this heat and humid rainy weather, now I feel I can share my review with you. Keep reading to know my thoughts.
NOTE:- I have sensitive (acne-prone) dry-combination skin.
This ultra-lightweight foundation contains micro-powders that absorb oil for a matte and poreless-looking finish
Unique formula goes beyond matching just skintone and also matches the texture of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural fit
Dermatologist and allergy tested, this mattifying foundation does not clog pores and is oil-free. Eliminate the look of pores and achieve natural looking skin with this lightweight, mattifying foundation.
- Mattifies and Refines Pores
- Matches Natural tone
- Natural Seamless finish
Available in 6 shades:- Ivory, Medium Beige, Natural Buff, Sun Beige, Toast, Toffee. But considering the fact that they launched 24 shades in US, 6 shades is less to cover all Indian skin shades. I got the shade 115 Ivory, I am somewhere between 128 Warm Nude and 115 Ivory, I tried both shades, Ivory seemed to suit my skin tone better.
Price: Rs 525 for 30ml
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation comes in a rectangular glass bottle with a black plastic screw cap. Though the bottle feels sturdy, but I am not sure if it’s travel friendly. It has a wide neck, doesn’t come with pump which helps in easy & controlled dispense of the product. The wide rim leads to product wastage.
The foundation is slightly thick in texture. Since I have dry-combination skin, it makes blending a bit tedious, though it can be taken care of by applying it directly to face in dots. I feel it will be bit drying for dry-skinned beauties, I needed to apply a generous amount of moisturizer before applying the foundation. I once made a mistake of applying it over a matte sun-screen, it gave the most patchiest finish ever! Anyway, it was my fault, dry-combination skin + matte sun-screen + matte foundation, what was I even thinking?
Being the lazy me, I have tried blending it with fingers as well, worked smoothly. It gives the best finish when applied with a foundation brush or beauty sponge. Texture-wise I feel it’s the best foundation for combination & oily skinned beauties in affordable category.
This Maybelline foundation gives a light to medium coverage but is breathable. You get an evened-out healthy finish but it won’t completely hide your blemishes. I recently had a acne breakout, I did require a concealer along with this foundation to hide the scars. It looks very natural under every light settings and didn’t give any ghastly look under flash.
During winters, it stayed on me for good 7-8 hours. However, during the humid summers it stayed on me for 5 hours with mild touch up on my T-zone area, which is pretty great for a drugstore brand. It will work as a great summer foundation for combination & oily skin. It’s a good buy for college/office-going girls who require a daily wear foundation.
I have acne-prone skin and it didn’t cause me any breakouts. It’s safe for sensitive skinned girls but I still would suggest to do a patch test first.
