Lately I am addicted to bring out the versatility out of pieces of clothing hanging in my closet, I am trying to find different ways to style them so I can get more & more wear out of them. In my last post, I styled a lehenga choli in unique looks for different occasions (click here to see that post). I am loving this new series as it challenges me to push my styling skills further! This time I created super stylish and trendy looks using kurti!!
Aren’t we all bored of wearing the same old kurti-leggings and kurti-jeans combo again and again? Isn’t it sad that we usually wear kurti only when we have some ethnic event or are feeling the desi vibe? Aren’t you tired of this? I for sure am! I always have been this person who would buy a kurti once or twice a year for the occasions that demand ethnic attires like Durga Puja, Diwali & the likes. After being worn in such occasions, they just ate space in my closet, rarely would I wear them. This needed to be changed!
Thanks to #DilSeDesi campaign by fbb, where they are emphasizing on the versatility of kurti, fbb’s forever kurtis inspired me to try something new. Showcasing 5 super stylish looks created with kurti but no jeans, no leggings combo so you strut out in them more often:-
LOOK 1:- Trendy Street Style With Kimono Jacket
Wanna try something trendy for college? Taking inspiration from street style, I combined a short white kurti with a kimono jacket (which btw looks very kawaii ^.^ ) and shorts. To add more pizzaz to this look, I wore a coin necklace and used braided belt & head band as hair accessory 😀 You can wear this look to music festivals, day parties, outings with friends and college.

LOOK 2:- Casual Lounging With Palazzo Pants
Keeping in mind the humid mess the weather is here these days, I kept this look super flowy and of course, summer fresh. Palazzo pants are my new fav, I find myself reaching out for them almost daily. Pairing these pants with a long kurti, jhumkis and silver highlight in the eyes for days when you want to keep it simple but don’t want to wear the boring kurti & leggings combo! This look is great for office (minus the eye highlight), college and casual hang outs.
LOOK 3:- Boho Vibes With Ruffled Full Skirts
I love this outfit for how minimal yet put together it looks! Running late, have no time to dress up? Throw on a baggy fit short kurti with a long full skirt and long boho shell necklace and tada! you’re ready to go!! The fluid silhouette feels this look gives is what I love the most 🙂
LOOK 4:- Quirky Diva With Kurti Worn As A Short Dress
This look is for the ones who want to channel the style diva in them! You can wear your kurti (without side slits of course) as a short dress. Here I am wearing aztec print kurti as a little white dress with a quirky statement neck piece and bracelet. This look definitely isn’t for the faint hearted, channel your inner Beyoncé to pull it off! You can wear this look to parties, clubs, college fests.
LOOK 5:- Power Play With Blazer And Pencil Skirt
Who said kurtis with denims are the the only Indo-Western look that is wearable in daily life? Pair your short kurti (preferably plain) with a pencil skirt and a blazer and you’re ready for work meetings. This look is a total girl boss moment for me so of course I had to add my silver tassel ear rings but you can totally skip it or opt for button ear rings for office. You can add envelope bags and stilettos (had to skip it cos’ of my acl & knee tear) for a more posh and refined setup.
Which look is your favorite, let me know in the comments? I am sure from now you won’t underestimate the versatility of the gorgeous kurtis sitting in your closet and will use them more in your daily outfits 🙂
