Fake Love – A Poem

Fake Love – A Poem

You think I don’t know
This concern, all for show
Done with the fake care
Sick of this fake love

Only reach when dropped selfie
Where were you when I was breaking?
Cut that bullsh*t baby
Acting like you my homie
You know I know why you texting me

Won’t bother to reply
Know where this small talk going by
Stop tryna cover with lies
Can’t you see
Not falling in trap, boy bye

You think I won’t know
This attention, all for show
Done with the fake care
Sick of this fake love
I don’t need you here

Don’t look at me with love in eyes
Don’t you smile like I am
Only one on your mind
Acting friendly for hot property
Make believe games can’t hide reality

Stop wasting time
This girl gon’ grind
Go find someone who’d listen
This love is fake
Already learned the lesson

You still think I don’t know
Your concern, all for show
Done with your fake care
Don’t need this fake love
Cos’ baby I deserve better

Hello….

I had this poem written back in 2017 and being the perfectionist & procrastinator that I am, I always kept editing it again and again. To be honest I am still not satisfied with it, might keep editing lol! Why am I posting it now? Cos’ I found the perfect music inspiration to go with it and I couldn’t stop myself from posting it!

The music is by BTS, it’s their latest single also called Fake Love. The mood of the song was perfectly fitting the mood of this picture of me taken a month back and the poem. And plus they are one of my faves are making a comeback, that too back with their old music style which got me into them! So, I had to tease the music to you guys!

P.S. a big fat heartfelt thank you to everyone for leaving me with supportive comments and all the love in my post about my insecurities! I was overwhelmed by the love and understanding everyone showered me with! Reading your kind & positive words definitely helped me and I am sincerely grateful for it! Thank you soooo mucchhh!! <3

Thank you for stopping by… Do leave your comments! I love reading them 🙂

  4. Thanks for writing this! The message you’re trying to imply through this poem is so powerful and strange how I rarely see anyone talking about it on blog-o-sphere! I feel sad for your generation sometimes, you all don’t get to experience love in it’s truest pure form, it’s all about social media for you all these days and finding dating prospects so easily on internet, kills the love thing I think? And you do deserve better honey, I wish you find and get to experience your true love, the love you seek as I can clearly see you don’t want the fast love! And it’s good, have faith, it all will happen in time 🙂

No I think it’s a really good poem, you’ve got the format just right, I think you can be finished with the editing now haha 🙂 x

  6. The poem is very raw and strong. I love its message. There are definitely a lot of fake people out there, and fake people are only capable of fake love. We all need someone who will be there for us through it all, not someone who will texts us when he/she feels like.
Great photo and that song you choose to accompany the poem is pretty cool.

  7. You are talented! Love this poem, it could be a song actually – thanks for sharing xx

  15. You have written such intense and strong thoughts with such sweet melody and beauty! Girl, you really are talented, I gotta agree with others here you must make a song out of this poem! Wow, this is such a great poem, girl! It’s also so relatable to so many girls and women, too. I can actually imagine it to be a song. You’re an excellent writer. I used to write poetry back in high school. I had a book filled with so many and I lost them over the years after moving a few times. You’ve inspired me to try and take up the hobby again 🙂 Thanks for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you’re having a Happy Monday so far!

Great poem and so timely. I am glad to see that people are becoming more aware of not just the actual faking going on in Social Media and the news but also the unrealistic world it creates and what a time suck it is when people should be engaging with one another in the REAL world–um excuse the pun to the infamous TV show that started it all.

I don’t think one is ever truly satisfied with poems. You just have to release them at some point or you’ll spend an eternity editing them.
